The Ayres Nature Reserve boasts one of Britain’s largest heathland habitats, supporting a rich variety of birdlife and coastal flora. The Reserve has a number of individual walks and there are regular sightings of basking sharks, whales, dolphins and porpoises as well as grey seals in the coastal waters.
Inland, the Manx Wildlife Park is set in the Ballaugh Curraghs, a diverse wetland habitat designated a site of special scientific interest and of international importance for birds, butterflies and other wildlife.
Dhoon Glen is a spectacular example of one of the Isle of Mans coastal glens. The walk down will take you past a mesmerising waterfall where you will follow its flow to a secluded cove, perfect for a picnic break.
